Heat Dissipation Tube Rated -30 to +210°C: One Sleeve from Cold Start to Full Load

The Heat Dissipation Tube works from -30 to +210°C, so one silicone sleeve can stay on a power component from a cold start through full-load heating. Buyers can check three numbers first: a working range of -30 to +210°C, dielectric strength above 4 kV and a UL 94 V-0 flame rating, all listed in the physical properties table on the Heat Dissipation Tube page.

Four benefits of a wide working range

One sleeve for cold starts and hot running

When equipment powers up in a cold room, the power devices start cold and then heat up quickly under load. The product page lists a working temperature of -30°C to +210°C and states that the tube operates stably at temperatures up to +210°C, which suits power and control circuits that see wide temperature swings.

Stays wrapped as parts expand and contract

Components and sleeves both move slightly as they heat and cool, and a stiff sleeve tends to open gaps at corners. This tube comes in Shore A 50 and 70 hardness with elongation of 150% or more, a good fit where irregular components need a close wrap.

Insulation and flame rating in the same datasheet

Temperature is only one requirement, and a sleeve still has to insulate and resist flame. The official silicone sleeve data lists dielectric strength above 4 kV (ASTM D149), volume resistivity of 1 to 2 × 10^14 Ω·cm (ASTM D257) and a UL-94 V-0 rating. These are typical values under standard test conditions, so the insulation margin at high operating temperature should be confirmed for the actual voltage and temperature.

Heat moves out through the wall

The tube insulates and also gives heat a path out. The product page lists thermal conductivity of 0.8 to 1.0 W/m·K (ASTM D5470), which helps carry heat from diode and transistor surfaces to the outside of the sleeve.

Where it is used

The product page lists encapsulation and thermal protection of diodes, transistors, electronic sensors and precision electrical devices. In power and control circuits that go through hot and cold cycles, the tube slides straight over a power device body or its leads, so one part handles insulation, flame rating and heat transfer together.

Why the upper limit needs margin: the Arrhenius equation

k = A · exp(−Ea / (R · T))

Here k is the rate constant, A is the experimentally determined pre-exponential factor, Ea is the activation energy (J/mol), R is the gas constant, 8.314 J/(mol·K), and T is the absolute temperature (K). Ageing reactions such as thermal oxidation run faster as temperature rises, so a sleeve held close to 210°C for long periods ages faster than one running in the middle of its range.

The equation comes from the Chemistry LibreTexts entry on the Arrhenius equation. It applies to a single reaction with a roughly constant activation energy compared over a limited temperature span, and ln k is only close to linear over a narrow range. No activation energy or ageing data is published for this tube, so the equation cannot estimate its service life. It only explains why the working range deserves margin.

What to prepare for selection and quotes

  • The maximum surface temperature of the component at full load and the lowest start-up temperature of the equipment, checked against -30 to +210°C with margin.
  • The component shape and the inner diameter you need; standard inner diameters run from 0.5 to 25 mm.
  • Wall thickness of 0.5 mm or 1.2 mm, and Shore A 50 or 70 hardness.
  • Operating voltage, plus any custom colour or property requirements.

To find the inner diameter and wall that fit your component, see the full properties table on the Heat Dissipation Tube product page or email yw@zh-lx.com to request samples and a specification review.
